CD-R Media and Accessories

(These are made by Taiyo Yuden. Check you local store for to see what speed is in stock. Most likely they will be 48x. Also, the newest TY media come in a package that differs from that shown in this photo. Gone is the familiar and reliable screw-top. Check here for a picture of the new packaging, which is also distinctive but not as easy to spot from across the store. )

I figured you deserved a holiday. You've been faithfully putting up the ads for a long time. And though my postings are quite up to your standards, I think they still get the job done. :)

Thanks Again. As long as the people of CDRLabs get informed about the hot deals on a weekly/daily basis, it doesn't matter who posts it up, just as long as it gets done. It's All Good. :D

Another one I found online:

Buslink 48x12x48x drive (Lite On).

$69.99 - $40 in mail in rebates! Offer is good from Jan 19-25 inclusive.

I bought my father one of these back in early December and the box contained a 48x24x48x.

Image

You just never know what you'll get 8)
Of course if you do get the 48x24x48x you can flash it to the LTR-52246s 52x Lite On drive.

That may be a closeout item. It's a great deal if you can get it and find the LTR-48246S inside like your father did.

I just checked and this drive is sold out at BestBuy.com and can't be picked up at any Best Buy store either. It's a closeout item and good luck if you can find it in stock anywhere.

Still, its a great deal if you can get it as Spazmogen described, so it might be worth checking at your local Best Buy. If you can't find it at Best Buy, try CompUSA. They are offering the same deal:

http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=8728

Personally I would try to get it at Best Buy first. CompUSA has a bad reputation for refusing to honor rebates, and has personally screwed me in the past. Best Buy, on the other hand, has never given me any hassles over rebates.

I read over at FW that Best Buy also has WD 60GB 7200RPM hard drives on sale for $29.99 after a $40 MIR.

shelf tag scan:

http://disc.cba.uh.edu/~kchui/fendi/BB%20price.jpg

I was there today and didn't see them. But then again, I wasn't looking for hard drives. I might have to stop tomorrow and pick up a couple for my home MP3/movie server.

Yes, Best Buy DOES have it. I saw the price tag at my Best Buy in California, but they were sold out of it!!

I'm going to try a different Best Buy later this week to see if they have it in stock. I hope they do!!

By the way what is "FW"?

I just got this and the disks are great! Mine were 48x disks with slightly different cases. No screw on thing on the top. Oddly enough, there was a thick sticker over the UPC code. I wonder why?

The sticker was to cover up the single-unit 50-pack UPC, since they were being sold in a double-unit 100-pack package.

The new packaging to which you refer has been out for awhile:

I didn't think to post my picture of the new packaging again. Sorry about that. I should have mentioned it and posted the new packaging picture since the picture in the ad shows the old packaging. I will edit my original post to aid others. Thanks for the nudge.

I was at my local Best Buy today and didn't see this either, even though I specifically looked for it. Maybe I didn't look hard enough... :-? (I wasn't actually intending to buy it. I just thought that while I was there I would try to confirm the offer.)

Two things happened. At least at the BB's by my house. One store had sold out of them (or they pulled them from the shelves). The other store had jacked the price up to $114.99, which was probably the real price.

$114.99 is the price shown at Best Buy's website for the WD 60GB 7200RPM HDD. However, the website states that it can't be ordered anymore and is not available for store pickup either.

Just go back from Best Buy. My local store did have 2 of the WD 60GB 7200 RPM HDD, but the price was $114.99 - $40 Mail-In Rebate = $74.99. Which isn't a good deal anyways, so that's probably why they were still sitting on the shelves.

I was also surprised to see my store had a bunch of Fuji 100-packs left. They must have gotten a new shipment in, because in the past when I've gone this late into the week, Best Buy never had any in stock.

Also, if anyone is looking for a Sony DRU-500A DVD Burner, my store had 2 of them in stock at $349.99.

I picked up the Fuji's also. Although they were gone from the shelf & 2 BB employees told me they were out of stock, I went to customer service for a raincheck. They told me they actually had some in the back & got me a package. I guess the floor people were being lazy. Also, the rebate was limited one per address. These may be reasons why they still had some left this late.

no offense, BuddhaTB, but the smaller pics are actually better as far as i'm concerned, no broadband! most of the times the smaller pic conveys enough info...

Your comment will be taken into consideration the next time I post up a hot deals thread for Best Buy.

I called Dad today to wish him a happy 63rd birthday.

He mentioned that he has been back to Best Buy in Lakeland Florida and bought another BusLink 48x12x48x with the $40 mail in rebates (I e-mailed him on Sunday and told him about the rebates).

He went shopping on Monday with his neighbour and they each bought a unit.

You guessed it.

Both boxes contained a 48x24x48x LTR-48246S and Nero on CD.

Dad's going to replace the old HP 7570i (2x2x24x) in his computer up here. The BusLink is a fantastic drive for $29 after rebates, especially if you can't find the Memorex drive on the shelf. The BusLink is not in the weekly advert according to Dad.

Has anybody gotten the Fuji 100 pack off of bestbuy.com? The site says that they are 24x blanks. I'm not going to order them if that is true.

They are 48x ones. I ordered them earlier in the week and know for sure they are 48x.
