TDK 2X DVD-R MEDIA FOR UNDER $2/EACH FROM STAPLES.COM

OK, maybe this deal won't work for everybody, but for those of you like me who buy in bulk this should turn out OK.

If you go to www.staples.com, they have a link for a "7 Day Online Savings Event 1/26 - 2/1/03" on the left side of the front page. Click on it, then click on "Click here to see more technology specials" in the lower right hand corner, and then click on page 2. You'll see the spindle of DVD-R discs along with easy to follow instructions there.

Here's where it gets a little tricky. If you buy only one spindle, you'll get the spindle of 15 for $25, plus tax and shipping. That works out to be a not-so-great deal. But if you buy SEVEN spindles, it would work out like this:

Spindle 1 = $25
Spindles 2-7 = $210 ($35 each)
Subtotal = $235

Coupon Code 79169 gives you $50 off of an order over $200, bringing your new subtotal to $185. Since your order is over $50, shipping is free. So yes, you still have to pay tax on the order, but your before-tax cost is $1.76 each -- ($185 / 105pcs = $1.76) -- which is roughly HALF of what compusa.com charges for the same spindle of 15.

Cheers.

It's a decent deal, but keep in mind the media is only 2X. You can buy Ritek 4X media for $2 or less from online merchants like Hypermicro.com.
