Fair warning - Mad Dog has a history of refusing to honor valid rebates for products sold at Comp USA. They refused to send me a $10 rebate check for a cheap sound card I bought early last year. Mad Dog has not responded to any of my many attempts to contact them via email, postal mail and telephone. Comp USA has also refused to help, claiming that they have nothing to do with the rebate and are not responsible for it.

So, I would recommend not purchasing any Mad Dog product. If you insist on buying Mad Dog products anyway, make the purchase with the expectation that you will not receive a rebate, and only buy if the purchase price without the rebate is a good value to you. Of course, in my calculus, the price of these Mad Dog no-name products is not a good deal if you don't get the rebate. You can get name brand, quality LiteOn (and other) drives for less direct from www.newegg.com with no mail in rebate. And newegg will give you good service, unlike Comp USA.

I also purchased a Mad Dog video card from CompUSA with a $30 MIR, I was given a lame excuse of not being able to transfer funds, since the receipt had the name of someone else's credit card. Keep in mind I sent in the original receipt, proof of purchase, and rebate form. What difference should it make who's credit card was used? No response to any of my attempts to contact them about it.
