That's the cheapest I've seen a 256 MByte flash card go for (although I haven't been watching prices closely lately). Nice deal, UALOneKPlus. :)

Thanks! To make the deal extra sweet, it's a 12X Compact Flash card!! This means it's extremely fast in Digital Cameras!

Hope everyone gets one, as it also comes with free shipping! :D

Man, I didn't even know flash media cards had different speed ratings. :o
I thought they all transfered media at speeds specific to each media. But 12x sounds really fast.

Yea, there are 2 things to look out for when buying a CF card:

1) Is it USB enabled? There are some cheap CF cards that are not USB enabled, this means some cheap CF card readers will not be able to read it. I have a more expensive SanDisk CF/Memory stick reader that will read non-USB enabled CF cards. But if you got one for free with a CF card, chances are it will not read non-USB enabled cards.

2) The speed of USB cards is actually related to CD-RW believe it or not. The 1x speed of most earlier generation CF cards is equivalent to the speed of a CD-ROM to read a CD at 1X. 12X, which is the current fastest standard, is equivalent to a 12X CD read speed. The 12X will make a huge difference in digital photography, where the camera typically takes a few seconds to write from memory to the CF card. This is critical if you are taking fast motion shots, or quick succession of shots.

This deal at Amazon is really hot because it is a 256 MB card, 12X, and USB enabled (Most 4X and 12X cards are usually USB enabled anyway).
