Might be Pacific Digital, might be Verbatim, etc., and then within whatever box you get, the drive itself may be made by any of several manufacturers. This deal is a real crap-shoot.)

I bought these awhile back and they were manufactured by CMC. They are your standard silver topped, generic discs. Probably some of the lowest quality CMC discs I've seen.

I've seen 200 packs of their new 48x discs. No idea about them.

I've purchased these before (twice) and yes, the quality is very low. My wife's computer has a Polaroid 24x and it does NOT like these CDRs at all.

Some of the older ones were LiteOn. I don't know whose drives they are selling these days. But rest assured that they aren't making there own. They are rebadging like so many brands are doing.

Oh, never guessed. Went to www.polaroid.com. Saw no links to drives.

What interested me is OfficeMax or somebody regularly puts them out for $20, after rebates.

The 48x polaroid drive is usually an OEM BTC BCE4816IM and is identified as a "Polaroid Burnmaxx48" or something.

My buddy got these a few months ago when they had the same sale. He says he has no problems with using them on his TDK 32/40(dont remember) burner.

For 5 bucks, thought i'd try them out...great for sending out demos..and they were 40x at my OM. My biggest beef though, they arent the generic silver top discs. They have this really ugly paint over scheme on top!

the drive my local store was offering was a I/O MAGIC 48X16X48 that i bought and what was in the box was a BENQ 52X24X52 and u can't beat that for 19.99 after MIR

I don't know who makes them. I bought it from OfficeMax last July (when they had a 3-day sale or some such on them and after rebate, the drive cost $19.99). It's happy with name-brand blanks and I don't have any problems when I use those to burn. My wife doesn't burn all that much anyway so the price was right and so has been its performance.
