What's up with the low stock of Sony's Dru-500a dvd burner

I live in Vancouver, Canada and this burner is beyond rare. Every store said they would have it 1month ago, then nothing but withing that month like 5 came out here total . Unfortunately I was too slow to get one, that is why I'm phoning every store every day now until I get one haha! Is Sony finally sending more shipments or what, I want my DVD burner! .
