When are the 8x dvrw coming out?

I'm tempted to buy the 16x drives but I think I will wait until 8x dvrw come out. Anyone know the timeframe for their release?

Which RW? - or +?

From what I've heard, 8x +RW media will be available the 1Q of 2005. 6x -RW media should start shipping about the same time, if not earlier.

Not sure if +/- makes a difference since the drives are inter-compatible.

Yeah, it makes a big difference. Different formats, etc.
