Which is the best Combo drive?

Postby Donedeal on Fri Nov 22, 2002 12:52 pm

Been looking for a good combo drive lately and it looks like I have come down to the following drives

Plexor PX-320A

Samsung SM-332B

LG Gcc-4320B

Toshiba SD-R1202

On a scale from 1 - 10 (10 being the best) which drive would you choose? I should also mention that price is not a factor here.

My vote

My vote will be to LG-4320.... it does SD correctly... very quite.... I am quite happy with it.
Also have the Samsung, good with 8MB buffer... but a bit more noisy and my feel about writing quality is probably not as good as LG....

According to Ian's review, the GCC-4320B reads both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, which cannot be said about other DVD-ROM combos. Granted, the LG reads these media types at only 6X, but its still better than nothing!
