Who makes Meritline's HQ 4x DVD-R discs?

Postby BurninMan921 on Thu Jan 08, 2004 4:03 pm

Anyone know? Are they any good? I'm guessing they're not too great, given the price, but all I want 'em for is movie backups-nothing important.

If these are total crap, any recomendations for cheap, high-quality media? Perferably 4x but 2x will do.

I have an Optorite DD0401 drive; so far the only DVD-R's I've burned were a couple of Memorex/CMC's. Seemed ok...
Soon to be proud user of Mandrake 10 (again!). SuSE 9 sucks!

Sorry, I don't know about those HQ ones, but I think Meritline has the Ritek G04 4x DVD-R media on sale as well for 99 cents each, which in general is pretty good quality for the price.

Since your burner does +R as well, you might want to check out some of the Ritek-made +R media. They make it for leading manufacturers like TDK. I find it on sale at Best Buy in 100 packs for $1.20 each. They are good quality (using the Ricoh dye) and burn at 8x in most 8x DVD burners.
