toshiba 8tb n300 hddToshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC), a committed technology leader, today announces a new series of 3.5-inch internal NAS (Network Attached Storage) consumer hard drives for personal, home office and small business use – the N300 Series HDDs. The new line of high-reliability drives are optimized for the performance, reliability, endurance and scalability required of NAS environments in which large amounts of data need to be efficiently stored and accessed daily.

The N300 Series is available in 4TB, 6TB, and 8TB capacities; all featuring a large 128MB data buffer. With support for up to eight drive bays in a multi-RAID NAS design, users’ NAS configurations can grow in line with their evolving data storage needs. Additionally, Toshiba’s Dynamic Cache Technology, a self-contained cache algorithm with on-board buffer management, optimizes cache allocation during read/write to provide the high-level performance demanded by real-time domains.

“We recently revealed that we were the fastest growing vendor in the HDD space for 2016,” said Michael Cassidy, vice president of consumer hard drives at Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. “Our new N300 Series is another testament to Toshiba’s market leading determination to meet customer demand with drives that offer variety, dependability and efficiency for every need.”

Employing advanced technologies that maximize performance and prevent downtime, the N300 Series HDDs utilize advanced control and sensing technology to mitigate the effects of vibration, shock and heat. With Toshiba Stable Platter technology, a tied spindle motor stabilizes the motor drive shaft at both ends to curb system-induced vibration. Toshiba’s Ramp Load technology reduces disk head wear and tear. Multiple shock sensors detect and compensate for shock and rotational vibration, while error recovery control minimizes recovery time from data errors. Further, use of high-endurance components ensures durability in harsh environments.

The N300 Series HDDs will be available at major retailers beginning April 2017. Each will include a three-year standard limited warranty. For more information on Toshiba’s consumer line of storage product, please visit: http://storage.toshiba.com/consumer-hdd.
