Nero 6.0.0.19 has been released. Who's in for testing?
(not me: I've lost too many DVD+R already with .15  )

Ok... burned a full 700mb cdr and a 4300mb dvd+rw without any problems with Nero 6.0.0.19... seems they have worked out some problems... and a small layout change in nero... when you're finished with a burn the button you click on now says "Done" instead of "Discard"... ;)

Then it means that the bug was not fixed!
:x

You'll need to switch back to 6.0.0.11 then if you want to use DVD+R (if your burner works at all with .11)

(you're sure you're using 6.0.0.19, are you?, not 6.0.0.15?)

v6.0.0.19 works fine so far with dvd+r/rw and cdr/w and the Plextor PX-708A, Firmware 1.01.
CDR's in fullspeed, dvd+r is extreme slow (data), not even 2x.
But no errors.

DVD+R Verbatim 4x
CDR Lifetec 40x

Did someone test it with Roxios EasyCD 6.1.x ?

I wrote an Optimum DVD+R (CMC) @2.4X w/o problems 4.3GB. I used the new Nero 6.0.0.19.
Trying the same disc with 6.0.0.15 with 5022 or whatever patch failed to close the same disc.

I had the same result here. I was successful with a ISO video file at 8X.
When I tried the same thing with a IFO I had the same closing problem. I was able to fix it by closing in DVD Decrypter.

For my money I'll stay with version 5.5.10.42. It does everything right all the time. So far I can't see any improvements with the 6.0.0.19.

Guys be sure to email Nero tech and report the problem. Also might want to PM ccampbell in the forums, he works for Ahead.

5.5.10.42 still works for me too! I was going to upgrade to Nero 6...but after all the problems with it and InCD 4xx...I may either wait for Nero 6.5 or reinstall Easy CD Creator 6 and Drag to Disc. Ahead is really not doing a good job with Nero 6 to date....starting to look like Roxio

I have firmware 1.02 and nero 6.0.0.19.I ran the clean tool from ahead. And reinstalled it. I can burn a DVD+R at 8X no problem. I cant burn ANY DVD-R's or DVD+RW's.Anyone have anymore suggestions?I emailed Plextor yesterday morning and havent gotten a reply yet. This 8X DVD+R is great for making data backups as I have 570 gigs of hard drives to backup but if I cant burn any DVD-R's its useless to me as thats what I burn most for XBOX's.

Plextor problems fixed ?

Postby blt78 on Mon Jan 12, 2004 12:20 pm

I bought a Plextor PX-708A early november and 2 weeks later I had to exchange it for a new one. One month later, it is out of order again with the same problems (don't recognize CD-R and CR-RW). So, I am waiting for my third PX-708A in 2 months ! Am I cursed or does every PX-708A goes nuts one day or the other ?
The previous post on this topic was old. What do you think of recent releases of Nero 6 (combined with the 1.04 firmware) ? Which burning software do you advise ?
Thanks !
