Not nearly as detailed as what I've grown accustomed to here. Don't start pestering Ian about when his will be up either guys, you know he'll do it as soon as he can.

His firmware version (with the "V3" in it) sounds like a software developer firmware, not the normal OEM or retail naming scheme. I've received firmware version QS01 from evildragon over at cdfreaks. See here: http://dhc014.firmware-flash.com/oemcol ... LTR-52327S

Don't waste your time trying to flash it onto any 6S based drive...

No offense to whoever wrote it. But, It sucks. Ian's reviews over here are thousands of times better. I did not bother reading it all, you should also not review two products in the same review. It not explain anything really. A con being, no IDE Cables. Well, is it an OEM drive? That would be why. Stuff like that.

Ian,

I hope you never do reviews like that one.

It would be interesting to see what the error rate is like on that 32X RW disc. I remember the trouble that there was with anything other than Verbatim DataLife Plus at 24X.

bhairavp: thanks for the heads up on this review.

Relax everyone. I've never seen Ian do a shoddy review yet. I doubt he'll ever do one as bad as that link above.

I thought the article was informative but I do agree reviewing two drives at once is odd.
Still it doesn't compare to a CDRLabs review.

Eeuurgh! That was a DISGUSTING review. Haven't they even heard of DAE, CDRom speed tests?
