DVD-RAM driver for LG 4082b

Postby Gooberslot on Sun Jul 11, 2004 8:09 am

I was going to order a LG 4082b OEM but I can't seem to find a place to download the dvd-ram driver. Anybody know where I can get it? I tried to look on LG's site but it doesn't seem to be working right now.

Just an FYI.. LG doesn't include the DVD-RAM driver with the GSA-4120B. They bundle InCD 4 with it. IMO, its better than the DVD-RAM driver. If you still want the driver, email me and I'll send it to you.

What makes InCD better? One of the attractions of DVD-RAM to me was that I wouldn't have to run InCD to get packet writing.

For one, it supports more UDF file systems. I think the DVD-RAM driver only supports UDF 1.50, 2.00 and Fat 32. InCD doesnt' support Fat 32. However, it supports 1.02, 1.50, 2.00, 2.01 and 2.50. I guess its just personal preference. For me, I guess I'd rather have just one packet writing program installed.

I tried FAT 32 and InCD with both 4082B (for 3x) and 4120B (for 5x). Erasing and formatting took too long so I gave it up. I'll wait for 16x DVD-RAM to become available earlier than Jan. 2005 which will never happen of course.

Ritek 25GB Blu-ray media will be cheaper than Maxell 5x 4.7GB DVD-RAM.

DVD-RAM drivers:

Win 2K: http://www.cdrlabs.com/files/DVD-RAM-XP.zip
Win XP: http://www.cdrlabs.com/files/DVD-RAM-2K.zip
Win 98: http://www.cdrlabs.com/files/DVD-RAM-98.zip

Those zips include all languages, not just english. If you're going to link other places, link back to this page, not directly to the files.

Due to people stealing our bandwidth by linking directly to the DVD-RAM drivers, they have been removed. If you need access to them, send me a private message.
