New 1.06 Pioneer A08 DVR-A08XLA and DVR-108 firmware

Pioneer just released a new firmware for their DVR-A08XLA and DVR-108 drives . It's version 1.06

Ian, is this the firmware you will be using on your review? or do you not have the drive yet?
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

I'm very curious to see if there are big improvments cause so far A08 it's a bit disapointing, so let's put some results and coments... [-o< :D

My contacts at Pioneer USA do not have the drive yet. I think they're waiting for the A08XL. I have a feeling NEC's new drive will show up before the Pioneer. #-o

Yeah, just keep in mind these are OEM drives.. not retail. Then again most of you guys don't need a retail kit.

yes 108 is oem version not quieter & handsome version of a08xl...+ no software i presume

when a08xl arrives, it might be cheaper than today's a07xl price not to mention 712a...which is very overpriced imo

i cannot wait to see how new ones will play out during Christmas season...perhaps about 50~70usd for 16x drives???
