any dvd roms out there that could read DVD R's fast

my samsung dvd rom only reads DVD R's from 2x up to 8x by the end of the disc and my LITE ON 811S is about the same. the reason i am asking is that i want to burn disc to disc at 8x with my LITE ON 811S. I can only burn at 2x from my samsung dvd rom to my dvd burner using the DVD R'S.

Pioneer 106S (16x DVD-Rom)
and
Pioneer DVR-107D

that i can burn on the fly at 8x with Ritek G04 Media

course it hits 8x like after the first 2 minutes of burning, but before that its burning at 6x

my ltd-166S with the speed hacked firmware can read burnt dvd's @ its top speed (16X).i'll never do that though.i'll just make an image of the dvd and then burn it away because the read speed might drop everynow and then..
