Bright pink artifact during playback of DivX 5 encoded CD

Postby Nomads on Sun Nov 09, 2003 9:43 pm

I have just purchased a LiteON LVD-2001 DivX DVD player and have encounted a playback problem with some DivX 5 and 5.05 encoded CD's. There is a bright pink hue which follows some feature in the picture as the image pans. This effect can almost fill the screen, but usually suddenly disappears with only about 25% of the screen affected, the remaining image when the effect is gone is excellent. The effect usually starts at the bottom of the screen progressing up and across. The disks which display this effect play correctly on two dfferent computers, using three different CD drives, the effect is only seen on the LVD-2001 player. I have tried 6 disks in my collection so far, and 3 of them display this effect. Any assistance or advice would be appreciated. Ray (The Nomads)

Nomads, try changing your encoder/encoder settings. Also try your cds on another LiteON LVD-2001.

Good Luck.
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone that soar above
Enjoy such liberty. - Richard Lovelace
