Convert WMA (legal from napster) to use in car via data cd

Postby b_atkinson on Fri Mar 17, 2006 3:11 pm

I am trying to figure out how to burn more music to a CD/R for use in my car. I have an alpine CDA 9856 that supports WMA and MP3. I download using Napster via Windows Media Player 10. However, I am not able to get WMP to burn using Data CD. It will burn using Audio CD. I just want to get more of my legally purchased music onto a CD/R rather than the standard 20 songs. Thanks for any help!

The reason is WMA has DRM and the only way to make a MP3-CD is to record the songs analog with a program such as Audacity.

There is a thread over at CDFreaks about a utility to strip the DRM if you currently have the license and an earlier version of Windows Media Player.
