New Lite On XJ-HD166S firmware

Lite On released a new firmware for their XJ-HD166S drive.

Out of all the firmwares that have been released, which one is the best?

all i know is that my 166s was very short lived in my system, it broke after a few months

Mine's been running for a year now... guess there's some amount of luck involved.

DS1A seems to be a crowd favorite; DS1C may be buggy. As for DS1E, hardly anyone has posted test results with it (but hey, it's a DVD-ROM, and, like CD-RWs, people don't seem to care anymore). DS1E did finally add support for un-booktyped +R DL, so unless people report specific problems with DS1E, I'll recommend it because of that and because it's newer.
