Sony DDU1621 DVD-ROM?

I am considering this drive, because Sony claims it is DVD-R/RW, DVD+RW read ready.

Does anyone have any experience with this drive? Is it noisy when watching DVDs?

I don't think Sony DDU1621 DVD-ROM is compatible and readable in any of these formats.

The only exception is a finalized DVD-R disc as playable on all DVD players and DVD-ROMs.

I just tried out on a recent TV recorded DVD-RW disc and this one as unreadable in that DVD-ROM.

It can't read and play on that DVD-ROM and this same disc can be played on DVD players with an RW mark suggesting as compatible.
