I saw meritline.com had hq azo 8x dvd-r discs, 100 for 26.99

decided to give them a try cant go wrong for the price,

discs burn at 12x on my nec 3500a, and nero gives a manufacturer of TYG02

That could be a phony code to increase the disc's compatibility in drives.

yes this is very true, i had read in other forums about fakes, at 12x burn i get mixed results on playback with several devices, however burnt at 8x it seems to work fine even on one of my finicky drives.

I guess time will only tell how the discs hold up otherwise.
