How fast is too fast?

Lite-On SOHD-167T has slowed

Postby guggu on Sun Feb 13, 2005 6:24 pm

Hi,
Can someone help here. I have a Lite-On SOHD-167T and I used the firmware crack from http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=17706
I has allowed me to read DVD's much quicker for me to be able to copy DVD in about 8min at 8x Speed.
But now it is taking 25-30 minutes. I did some testing and it seemed that the reading of my Lite-On has slowed to a max read of 2.62x speed.
Is my DVD-ROM almost dead or is there something I can do.
Cheers,
guggu

Check to make sure DMA is still enabled.
