Differences between Lite-On drives

Postby cosmichippo on Sun May 29, 2005 3:29 pm

Howdy,

Does anyone know what the differences between these drives are?

LTR-52327S
SOHR-5238S
SOHR-5239S

I see that the 5239s has a belt drive loader but that is the only difference evident on the Lite-On site specs.

I was gonna go for the LTR drive because of its superior DAE performance but since the other 2 drives are newer and cheaper I thought that I'd try and find out about them before I buy.

Also, does anyone know of any reviews of either of the SOHR drives that are as thourogh as Ian's/ I am mainly interested in DAE quality, audio burn quality and sample offset both ways. Audio accuracy in general. Since the LTR drive has a 0 sample offset I was interested in it but if the others are the same why not save a little bit.

Thanks for any info or links in advance,
Mike

LTR = SOHR. Lite-On Recorder = LTR (I think..) and Sony Optical Hardware Recorder = SOHW. Sony are now a majority stakeholder in Lite-On, hence the change in nomenclature.
