Any more info on Plextor Premium 2 ?

Postby dvda on Thu Aug 17, 2006 9:19 am

Supposedly this won't be released in the US. Is there any online store in the UK would have a Retail/boxed version in stock to ship to me in the US? Does anyone here have one yet?

quite right!
however i don't think there are many regular visitors from the UK here so you might not get an answer.
i suggest you also post this question at cdfreaks, they're a European website with more European members, better chances you'll get you question answered.

There is hope! This e-mail is only a week old... Maybe Plextor will give us a Christmas present...

Hello Chuck,

Unfortunately, this product is not yet available in the U.S. There is a
possibility we may release this drive before year-end but no official
announcement has been made. Please stay tuned!

Thank You,

Subject: PlexWriter PREMIUM2/T3K in U.S.A.

I am interesting in your CDRW Drive "Premium2" for my business.

Where can I buy this in the U.S.A. as Retail (w/plextools software)?

Thank you very much,

Chuck

If I was you folks I would give up on Plextor. They lie about updates and the hardware last a year or a bit from my experience. The tech support ain't worth a toot either. Get something better. Am not sure what it is, but I done been around with them. They don't seem to care. Just my 2 cents.

i do have a 755sa but to this day i still use my 716a for my customers burns

I, too, was told by Plextor USA to expect the Premium II in the US by mid-December 2006... I guess it's just not going to happen. I used to have a Yamaha drive with AudioMaster and it was fabulous (I kick myself for giving that one away). I would like to see the Premium II come to the US or see a Premium DVD burner with it implemented.

And I'm with you hoxlund... my PX-716A is still a solid drive though I use it more as an audio ripper and audio burner than a DVD burner.

all this talk of the 716 has me mourning my poor departed 716UF... :( (it quit recognizing any discs after 2 years of heavy use.. I am in the process of trying to take it apart to fix it or swap another drive in..)

It really was an awesome all around drive.
