Anyone tested this new firmware with CDS200 protected discs? Let's hope it can extract the audio tracks everytime

knowing some have reported some little bugs with DS14 Firmware ( with some DVD rips and CDS200 copy and perhaps ability to stay in DMA mode with time ) whereas they had no problems with ancient Firmwares , i think now ( yes i have changed my mind  ) that DS14 Firmware added few bugs ( programming errors ? ) . It could be that DS18 goes back to normal correcting bugs created by DS14 Firmware . It's only a personal opinion . But the fact DS14 and DS18 Firmware have nearly the same name makes me believe it .

The new flash utility is better it is a fact .

Digi, it's XFLASH which I sent to you and D not long ago ;) This new Flash engine was used ( probably as a test ) in an IOData firmware updater. See my post here: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... 3218#63218

Thanks Dave, been aware of it being Xflash but I've never seen this other thread - interesting stuff! 8)

I have no Audio CD protected by CDS200 to test, but I would like to have some results with this new firmware. Now EAC has some new TOC defeating methods which may help.

In my mind issues you encountered were both EAC and Firmware fault .
If i have time i'll test it with new Firmware ( with all Firmwares i had some bugs with EAC while copying CDS 200 , many times EAC bugged before copying but when it was working there was no problem at all so it is not a problem of protection copying sheme but rather a programming/aspi bug ; All other copying software were working fine ) . I assume if it works in cent per cent cases with EAC new version (because it should have less bugs ) u should not have issues .

I have tested . There is no improvement for compatibility between EAC latest version and 166S while copying CDS200 .
I advice you to use another copying software ( generic or specific to audio ) . It is very easy to copy it with other software .
