NERO_6 Registry_Show Record Speed_NO in P4 but YES in P2 P3

Postby daveg2541 on Wed Aug 06, 2003 8:51 am

a friend has Nero 6 on a Pentium 3 and it can
display the actual writing speed when you change
the registry setting in regedit (see below)

But ... 2 people with Nero 6 on Pentium 4's
can't it doesn't have the line in the registry anymore
"ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"

Does anyone else with a Pentium 4 have it or know
how to have Nero 6 show the writing speed like it
used to ? :-(

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom
\Recorder

when you right click and 'modify'

"ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"

from 0 to 1

Nero then displays the "actual writing speed"
when burning CDRs

Have you tried what I suggested in my email? Manually adding that reg key?

Intresting, I have two Pentium 4's, one 2.53, one 1.6, as well as an Athlon XP 1700+, and on all three machines, right from install, it displays the actual recording speed.

Only older versions of Nero require you to edit the registry key to show the actual recording speed.

I don't find this true since when I installed Nero 6 under Windows 2000 I had to edit the registry to see the actual recording speed.

Interesting... I wonder if my Nero 6 install picked up the registry key from the previous installation of Nero 5.5.

That might be what happened since I compleatly removed Nero 5.5 and used the clean tool to clean out the registry before I installed Nero 6.

I don't remember if I removed Nero 5.5 before installing Nero 6, come to think of it, I probably didn't. In any case, I certainly didn't use any registry cleaning tools to clean Nero 5.5's entries out of the registry.
