Quietest CDRW and DVD-ROM Drives

Postby Bonesdad on Thu Sep 25, 2003 11:59 pm

I want quiet drives...a CDRW and a DVD Player. Black in color. Good quality is a must.

Samsung?
Toshiba?
Sony?

Quietest CD Burner, Plextor by far.

Quietest DVD-ROM Drive, Not sure, but not Lite-On, those are very loud (but perform well)

That just means YOU can decide now. :)

Upon further review, I would agree with eliminator that Samsung CD-RW drives are relatively quiet. Their SW-252B being one in this category.

You need to weigh the pros and cons of each. For example, one reason to rule out a Plextor is because it is more expensive than a Samsung or LG. If you are on a budget, stick with Samsung or LG. An option would be to get an all-in-one drive; both Samsung and LG have CD-RW/DVD-ROM combos which are quiet.

I think you mean "mach" speed, as in very fast. "Mock" speed would be pretend or simulated speed, as in it isn't actually fast but pretends to be... :)

You didn't. Did you not see the smile at the end? I was trying to be friendly, and let you know about a little mistake you made. If you don't learn from your mistakes, you will continue to make them and look foolish to others. Thus, I was trying to help you. But based on the posts you have made in the very short time you have been here, apparently friendly, learning, helpful and other similar concepts are not part of your vocabulary. So I will leave you to foolish which you seem to have mastered so well... :-?
