How fast is too fast?

I have a choice to make on a new CDROM ; 56xAOPEN or similar LITEON . Which is the better drive and why ?

I don't know much about CD-ROM drives (I currently use only CD-RW drives in the computers I use frequently), but in my experience, AOpen drives aren't as good as Lite-On (reliability when burning, recording quality, etc). Also, my 48x Lite-On CD-RW is a lot quieter than my 52x AOpen CD-RW. Based on my experience, I would choose the Lite-On.

I'd deffinetly go with the Lite-On drive. My LTN-486 was very nice.

Lite On.
The Aopen 54x and higher drives are known for to high rotating speeds and scattering disc's.
So better stay safe and don't get hit by some part of flying policarbonate.
