Real-time speed display in Nero 6.3?

Postby BurninMan921 on Mon Dec 15, 2003 1:38 pm

OK, I have the reg patch for the 5.5 Nero's to show real-time speed display. I thought 6.x was supposed to show the speed in real time?

I'd like to see how my DVD's are burning w/o using DVD Decrypter to burn an ISO...

Main reason: got some Verbatium +R's that are going from 4x to 8x and back to 4x... (stopped using these at 8x, though).

I think 6.x needs the same registry tweak as 5.5.x to show the speed in real time.

Thanks, it worked! I just didn't want to add something to the registry and muck up Nero :-?

Now if Ahead would just fix the "time left" display. It assumes 8x for the entire disc, which of course no current burner does.

Hmm...Optorite DD0401 starts at 4x then goes to 8x. Not as fast as the Plex. Ah well, I've got HD-BURN :)

Someone shared this with me...works like a charm.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder]
"ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001

Open notepad...copy the content...save as showspeed.reg

Now...you have a file that will work every time...

Thanks Bob.

Now I won't have to open up regedit and manually put this entry in each time I reinstall Nero. :D

I do have modified the registry and have actual speed showing, could please explain what you mean by opening a notepad and saving it as showspeed .org. First of all what content you are refering to and what is the command of coping that content, second if you save it in notepad and happen that you reinstall the Nero how the saved file in notepad automatically will be rewritten in to registry again.

Thanks;

Bob means to open the windows program known as Notepad (comes with Windows, so all PCs have it) and paste in this text:

Code: Select all
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder]
"ShowSingleRecorderSpeed"=dword:00000001

Then, save the file as "showspeed.reg".

Once you have created this file, double-clicking on it will automatically do the registry edit which you had manually performed above.

The question wasn't about notepad or how to get to the notepad, question was what content and for what purpose has to be saved in notepad. Any how thank you CDRecorder for expaining that and thank you bob for the good suggestion.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
