Software to print contents of Music CD to printer

Postby Jim on Sat Dec 27, 2003 2:53 am

Hello,

I purchased a Lite-On CD burner for my dad for Christmas so he could burn music CD's. I'm looking for a simple program to grab the track names off the newly created CD's and print it out for him to paper catalog what he has. He's using Easy CD Creator 6 to burn the CD's, but the included label software only seems to be able to print covers, inserts, CD-labels, ect. I'm looking for something to dump it to a standard text file or just print the info.

Thanks!

Jim I think you've got us stumped with this thing. May I suggest an OCR scanning software to scan the CD song page?

Most of the CD Label creators (Nero, EasyCD, Accoustica, ec...) will let you create a song list easily. Also if the cd has an CDDB (http://www.gracenote.com/gn_products/cddb.html) entry, then the songs list will be downloaded and the list will be created automatically by the program. But if the CD is a custom collection, then you might need to type the songs listing manually.

Ahh, an easy question for once! :)

Use CDex - It's a cd-ripper, but it shows all of the track names - and can copy the album info to the clipboard. Then just paste it into notepad or wordpad. Just set it up to auto-connect to the CDDB...

You can get CDex here:

Thanks for the responses! CDeX worked out great by copying the list to the clipboard and then pasting it into an excel spreadsheet. Easy and clean.

Thanks again,
Jim
