My Transformers Collection

Postby Ian on Fri Oct 31, 2008 9:53 pm

As most of you know, I'm a big Transformers and Star Wars fan and I've been collecting the toys for a number of years. I currently have many of my Transformers on display in my office. I had my camera out so I figured I'd snap a few pictures. And no.. this is only about 3/4 of it. I still have a bunch in storage.

Holy crap, that's very impressive! Are there any that you wish you had, but you can't find anywhere?

I decided early on not to go back and get all of the ones I missed when I was younger. I'd go crazy, not to mention broke, getting all of them. Nevertheless, if I see a good deal on a G1 or Beast Wars toy I don't have, I'll pick it up and add it to the collection.

Most of my new stuff has already been liberated by my son. He likes the new Animated cartoon so I let him play with the toys from that line.

I'd like to see photos of some of that Star Wars stuff... perhaps I may head to the Madison area with a buddy of mine who's folks live up that way and look you up, Ian... Would be cool to see some of it... Perhaps I will come bringing gifts from my Star Wars days... Have no real interest in holding onto the few things I have anymore.

Sounds good to me. We should meet up some day anyway. I'm in your area every few weeks, when I go and visit my parents.

Pretty crazy collection. Reminds me of the few OG Transformers I had when I was a kid. I remember having Optimus Prime, the Triceratops dude and a few others...

It shouldn't be too surprising that my oldest son is really into Tranformers. He's watched all of G1, Beast Wars and Beast Machines and the '86 movie a number of times. I let him play with my Animated toys (which is why there are only 4 are on the shelf) but he knows not to touch the other stuff.

We're adding another bedroom in the basement so I had to move a bunch of the toys I had stored down there. Here's the result:

Sadly, this doesn't include the stuff I have on display already.

Just got my kid the Powerbots Optimus Prime and Transformers Bumblebee for Christmas! It will beat the hell out of the POS small one that broke apart I got him last year. If he likes them a lot and continues to play with them, then I'll get him Megatron next year.:) Impressive collection by the way.

I really need to upload some new pictures. I also built a room to store all those boxes.
