Nero 6 ISO burning

I recently got an optorite dvd burner and bought a copy of nero 6. I tried to dump some files by burning an iso dvd, but when i tried to read the dvd-r in my regular dvd drive, I only see what looks like a 44k music file. This is my first time using the optorite and nero 6. I have used nero 5 with my old cd burner and it was just a simple drop and burn inot an iso. Can anybody gie me some guidance? Also, the dvd-r reads fine in the optorite. Thanks.
