I'm gonna buy an LCD Screen .
I want to buy a Samsung .
It's max resolution is 1024*768 and 75 hz refresh .
I think that's not enough for gaming .
So , what do you think ?

I was looking in a catelogue i found, and i saw a Acer 19" flat panel display which has 1280x1024@75Hz. one of my friends has a BenQ flat screen moniter, he said he's never had trouble with it.

If you game and primarily play FPS, you want a very low response time above all else to prevent ghosting. As of right now, the Hitachi CML-174 has the lowest response time in the industry. I don't think they have come out with a 19" equivalent as of yet, just 17".

Here's a great place to buy monitors and the price is solid as well $459. You could go dual pretty cheap.

Also at the bottom of the page are links to 7-8 reviews.

Yups, i have the Hitachi cml174 and its very good in games.
and i have the old one, the one selling now has a new panel and is really 16 bits in color.

The perfect game tft !! (17")

btw, refreshrate in tft are not the same as the refreshrate for crt monitor's
I'm running my 17"at 60Hz and is very stable. (A crt at 60Hz gets me crazy)
You have to look at the refreshrate, the contrast and the brightness

The 17" tft is quite expensive . If I buy CRT Monitor or 15"LCD , I can buy better Graphic Card or More RAM .

A 17" is more expensive, but it will last for years.
If you buy a 15" youre max.res. is 1024*768, a bit small isn't it?

More Ram or a newer videocard isn't really necesarry 768 mb or a R9500Pro will be (fast) enough for some time.

Hey, the mods deleted youre sign? I had just stole it from you and i'm using it on an other forum ;)

The problem with the monitors with the fast(lower number) response time is that the type of panels they use are not as good image quality wise as some of the other panels.

For the best all around flat panel I'd recomend the Samsung 17" 172T. Great image quality and minimal ghosting.

If you want to play games you're pretty much limited to 15" or 17"... I'm not sure if the hitachi really is the fastest, last I heard the NEC 16ms was the fastest LCD out. Either way, neither of these have the image quality of the Samsung 172T.

If you want to play games, you're probably jsut better off with a CRT for now.. cheaper and pretty much optimized for fast motion.

I've also heard good things about the 172t, great reviews from all over the place...

I'm using the hercules 920, works perfectly fine for gaming for me. Only problem I see (compared to CRTs) is the color contrast. Not nearly as good. Other than that, no ghosting problems, nice and crisp.
