Well hi there
my problem is that when i touch my cabinet or my monitor screen i feel shocks i.e electric shocks i ve checked all the terminals the wires and tried hooking the comp up to another main switch but still this problem presisits recently i have installed an cd writer
what do i do please help me as i feel it may damage my computer

Don't worry about damage to your computer, worry about damage to yourself!

Are these static shocks or shocks from stray mains voltage? If it is the latter, then you really need to take this seriously because it could cause bodily injury.

Can you tell the difference between a static shock and a shock from the mains? Do you have access to a voltmeter? Does the shock only occur the first time you touch your equipment after sitting down, or does it occur any time you touch it, even after having touched it several times before and doing nothing in the intervening time period? Is there a spark or a snap when you touch the equipment, or more of a buzz? Does the sensation persist while you are in contact with the equipment, or does it last but an instant?

Note: I'm not asking you to experiment, I'm asking what you have already observed.

well yes i do feel it is a voltage one as when i have my speakers on i can hear crackling sound and yes whenever i touch the machine i get shocks
please tell me what do i do

Hmmm. It doesn't sound like a static shock. In that case, I would suggest you unplug your equipment, including your monitor, and take it to a qualified service technician for diagnosis and repair. You really don't want to risk physical injury, or even death, over a matter like this.

Yes, please take care. You don't want to mess with the mains unless you are qualified to do so.

or you could take the whole thing apart find out what's wrong and rebuild it, if you want to save about 50USD instead of having some guy rip you off.

I would also get one of those line testers at Ripoff Shack and see if the hot and neutral are reversed in your wall plug. A very common mistake.
