CDRLabs has taken an in depth look at Seagate's 600 SSD. Available in both 7mm and 5mm z-heights, the 600 SSD is the ultimate laptop upgrade for road warriors, power users, executives and gamers. With no moving or mechanical parts, this drive is more rugged and shock-resistant than standard hard drives. The 600 SSD also combines Link A Media Devices' (LAMD) LM87800 controller with Toshiba's 19nm Toggle mode MLC NAND flash to deliver faster boot up speeds, shorter application load times and improved system responsiveness.

Yeah, I always like to see some SSDs with non Samsung, Marvell or Sandforce controller.

What I don´t like = only 240GB instead of 256GB.

The Corsair Neutron-series is almost the same, newer model have 256GB, 5 years warranty and a lower price. AFAIK the Seagate limits warranty to TB written and have only 3 years.

So I would prefer the Corsair.

I think Seagate was playing it safe by over provisioning that much (240GB vs 256GB). The Neutron series use 25nm or 22nm NAND where the Seagate is 19nm.

As far as price and warranty.. I can't argue with you there.

In theory the 19nm isn´t that reliable as 22 or 25nm

IMHO all these SSDs use Toshiba-NAND, the AS SSD is very similar between Seagate and Neutron
