ASUSTOR Inc. today is thrilled to announce the launch of two enthusiast grade NAS devices, the two bay Nimbustor 2 and the four bay Nimbustor 4. The New Nimbustor series are also known by their original model numbers. The Nimbustor 2 is also known as the AS5202T, while the Nimbustor 4 is known as the AS5304T. The Nimbustor line represents a departure from generic model numbers to more accurately describe ASUSTOR’s products that store data in a personal cloud device.
The Nimbustor 2 uses Intel’s Gemini Lake dual core Celeron processor clocked at 2.0GHz while the Nimbustor 4 uses a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The Nimbustor 2 and 4 come with 2GB and 4GB of DDR4 RAM respectively. Intel’s Gemini Lake family improves performance by 30% while also lowering power consumption by 40%. Both types of CPU boost to 2.7GHz and 2.5GHz respectively, allowing even better performance in various tasks. The Nimbustor series come equipped with two 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports, making the Nimbustor our fastest Intel-based NAS to date. When equipped with SSDs, the Nimbustor, combined with the two 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports brings faster performance than ever before.

Synology Inc. today launched RackStation RS819, a compact and scalable 4-bay rackmount NAS with snapshot technology support, designed for business workgroups to effectively manage, share, synchronize, and back up data.
"For growing business workgroups on limited budgets, setting up an effective data protection and backup plan is sometimes not their first priority, leading to catastrophic losses in case of server failure," said Michael Wang, Product Manager at Synology Inc. QNAP Systems, Inc. (QNAP) today launched the TR-002, a 2-bay hardware RAID expansion enclosure that can be utilized as a NAS storage expansion solution, and also as hardware RAID storage for Windows/macOS/Linux computers and NAS. The TR-002 connects to a PC/NAS via USB 3.1 Gen.2 Type-C and provides a dependable storage solution for various user requirements.
The TR-002 supports individual, JBOD and RAID 0/1 storage configurations. QNAP NAS users can use the TR-002 with their NAS to set RAID parameters and create a storage pool by using the “Storage and Snapshots” app within QTS. Alternatively, the TR-002 can be used as an external storage device for the NAS. Windows, macOS and Linux users with limited storage upgrade options can also use the TR-002 as an expansion unit, and a dedicated QNAP External RAID Manager utility (for Windows and macOS) can help them view disk health, change RAID configurations, check logs, and update the firmware of the TR-002.

QNAP Systems, Inc. today unveiled the new dual-port 25GbE QXG-25G2SF-CX4 and 10GbE QXG-10G2SF-CX4 network NICs. Featuring Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx SmartNIC controllers, these cards can greatly boost file transfer speeds and also support iSER (iSCSI Extension for RDMA) to optimize VMware virtualization. Both cards are PCIe Gen3 ×8 and can be installed in a Windows®/Linux® PC or compatible QNAP NAS.

Today, Synology Inc. launched DiskStation DS1019+, a 5-bay desktop NAS that provides excellent performance with great expandability, making it a versatile choice for both small businesses or home users.
