QBoat Sunny provides unprecedented processing and storage performance with its Annapurna Labs AL-314 processor, 2 GB RAM and two M.2 SATA SSD slots (2260 and 2280 lengths). In addition, QBoat Sunny is equipped with three 1000BASE-T ports, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type A ports, and a M.2 slot for wireless module installation (2230 length). QBoat Sunny utilizes QTS Lite, a lightweight version of QNAP's award-winning QTS operating system. QTS Lite not only preserves core functionality of QTS (including File Station, Storage Manager, Network & Virtual Switch and App Center) but also provides Container Station and QIoT Suite Lite for IoT developers. QBoat Sunny offers great hardware/software performance and expandability for building versatile IoT scenarios to streamline development and make IoT more accessible and fun for everyone.

Louis Chen, Product Manager of QNAP, said: "The launch of QBoat Sunny demonstrates our determination to promote innovation in the IoT industry, and provides IoT makers and system integrators with an easy-to-use and highly-flexible solution with lowered total cost of ownership (TCO). QBoat Sunny is a next-generation IoT mini server/gateway with dual roles/functionality and abundant edge computing capabilities, while the QTS Lite operating system offers versatile features and support for Container Station and QIoT Suite Lite. Both beginners and advanced makers can make great use of QBoat Sunny with appropriate packages, and unleash the potential of IoT to its maximum extent."

QBoat Sunny offers complete functionality and comes with an affordable price. It can be used as a secure, cost-effective central server in a small-scale/private cloud IoT solution, and as a fog or edge computing server, or a gateway of data filter and relay in a large-scale/public cloud IoT environment. Public cloud costs such as processing and bandwidth fees can be kept at a minimum, and resources can be distributed and utilized in a more effective way.

Container Station is QNAP's lightweight containerized virtualization solution for Docker and LXC containers. Developers can easily migrate applications to QBoat Sunny without re-developing them. Also the Docker Hub offers versatile containers that can be downloaded to Container Station and immediately used. QIoT Suite Lite is QNAP's exclusive integrated IoT package, built with popular open-source IoT apps such as Node-RED and Freeboard, for dealing with all steps of developing an IoT project in a single interface. Amateur makers can benefit from QIoT Suite Lite and easily build their first IoT applications, and then expand them as their project grows.
