Yamaha Electronics Corporation today introduced the AVENTAGE BD-A1010 Blu-ray Disc Player with superior 3D and HD video and audio playback, as well as performance and control features that complement the company’s latest AVENTAGE 3D A/V receivers. Offering a powerful feature set at its price point, this model enables Internet video streaming via Netflix, Blockbuster on Demand and YouTube Leanback compatibility, and provides dual USB (front/rear) inputs for a wide-array of audio and video sources. Advance features include compatibility with a free downloadable iPhone app for component and A/V system control. A similar app for Android devices will be introduced later this year.

The BD-A1010 offers many Internet-based interactive features, including BD-Live and BonusView, which provide secondary video and audio for enhanced commentary and information, as well as features for existing and future entertainment options via USB memory devices.

Combining Yamaha’s best-in-class technology and engineering with stylish design, the BD-A1010 facilitates maximum operating convenience with the Yamaha AVENTAGE line of AV receivers. By pressing the SCENE BD/DVD button on a current Yamaha AV receiver remote control, users can turn on the power to the receiver and the BD-A1010 and begin disc playback. The BD-A1010 offers full HD Audio decoding, 1080p/24Hz-compatible HDMI and 7.1 multi-channel analog output as well as 2-channel down-mixed audio output. The BD-A1010 is a Universal Blu-ray Disc Player that also plays SA-CD and DVD-Audio formats in addition to offering wide-ranging compatibility with DivX Plus HD, AVCHD, WMV, MOV, JPEG (HD), MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV and AAC content. The BD-A1010 also features x.v.Color and Deep Color enhancements for video playback.

Additional features include an RC-232C for custom install integration and control, on-screen display GUI, dual USB ports for video, music and photos, playback of JPEG slideshows with MP3 audio sound, a detachable power cable, and Setup Wizard which enables the system to be easily readied for video and audio entertainment.

The Yamaha BD-A1010 carries an MSRP of $499.95.
