hehe Ian you are correct about asking me The rest of you no 420 isnt signifigantly remebered for those reasons. 420 is pothead jargon When people say its 4:20 it means they are about to get high. High Times did a feature of the origins of 420 a few years ago. It came from a group of people in the peoples republik of kalifornia. It was the time they all met after school to smoke out. It quickly spread over the last 25 yrs. Now almost all of us stoners get a sly grin on at anything 4:20 related. 4/20 4:20 am or pm and with my friends any hour with a 20 at the end since if its 9:20 here its 4:20 somewhere. On the screen savers tonight they even made a reference to a happy 4/20.I had 3 people call me last night after midnight to tell me happy 4/20. Thats more than my family does when its a major holiday.
afroman is not well liked around here. He did nothing but blame his life screw ups on weed. Not a positive stoner song. Even High Times frowned at him later. If ya cant tell yet I am a pothead Thats one of the reasons I voted nader and the green party. Just because you smoke weed does not mean your life has to suck like afroman made it sound. There are alot of responsible marijuana users out there. Biggest key to success is dont go to work high.
I dunno, I guess being a non-smoker, I find that song amusing. I put it up there with Adam Sandler's "Lunch Lady Land" and "Piece o' Sh*t Car", and even the clip of Big Bird and Kermit getting high.
I definately don't take him seriously as a rapper, and I haven't heard his other stuff (old or new), so I don't really know if he wanted to be taken seriously in the first place. Just thought I'd mention I heard he released his CD on 4/20... didn't mean to get people all up in arms!
