As far as reviews go.. I'm hoping whoever has some 8x +RW tests. No one seems to have it here in the States.. including Plextor... at least they're not giving it out to reviewers.

Yes, the TLA# is printed on a little sticker on the top of the box.

I allready had expected this that it was just a hollow claime at the time that it was released and that the drive at this time isn't cappable of burning the media.
In other words Plextor just put it on the box/site in the begining for marketing reasons. Why it would be just added with a new firmware which makes you think.
If they did announce this one directly and had to add it later why don't do the same with 6x DVD+R DL ?
Also this gives hope for 16x burning with powerrec. It might be added later.
