About bitsetting in Pioneer A12FX (black)

Guys,

I have a Pioneer writer A12FX/B:

Supposed I want to backup a movie using DVD+R DL, could I change the book type to DVD-ROM with this drive so the media will be more compatible to home players?

You can not change the booktype, but Pioneer drives automatically set the booktype to DVD-ROM when burning DVD+R DL. So the drive already works as you want.
