After pluged in and power on, win2000 recognized it. And Alcohol recognized it too and burned a CDR successfully.
But Nero 5.5.9.9 didn't find this drive. There's only one choice: image recorder(virtual device).
Could anybody tell me what's wrong?

Is it better to burn with 40X for this drive, in order to make it durable?

And, I have a question about my old burner --- Verbatim 32X. It failed for every CDR recently in NERO 6 showing "Could not perform Fixation"....
I've tried changing different CDR, downgrade to Nero 5.5.9.9, and burn with Alcohol, nothing changed. But, it CAN burn cdrw !
Any idea about this?

Would appreciate any reply.

Nero..you probably have too old a version to recognise the drive. Download a newer version.

You're 200% right. Nero 6.3.1.6 works fine.
Thanks!!!

Hi!

I had the MSI CR 52A2, an Optorite 5205 OEM and I can burn max. 16x with Nero 6.6.0.5. Can you burn at 52x with 6.3.1.6 (Disc at once)?

Sorry, didn't notice your post.

Yes. I can burn with 52X, with nero 6316. But I never tried "disc at once", what's the difference from "track at once"? Tell me sthg about it, I'll do a test.

If you don´t burn Disc-at-once(DAO) you can´t overburn and your Audio-CD´s can´t be played on all CD-Players. With TAO (track-at-once) the laser was shut down after every track and make automatically a 2-second-pause between the tracks, with DAO all tracks will be written without interruption

Just burned a DATA-CD, DAO, 52x, 4 files, totally 697M, cheap CDR, everything is ok.
I'll do a AUDIO-CD test later when I get enough music.

How long took the burning process?

Can't remember exactly. But with records in the log file, it took 2:37.
