Aliens vs. Predator... The Movie

Postby Ian on Sat Nov 01, 2003 1:25 am

I saw posters advertising this movie and just about crapped my pants. I've been waiting more than 10 years for this movie to come out. Now I'll just have to wait until the summer of 2004.

"No matter who wins.. we lose."

Hopefully they'll do it like the comics and game where you have the Aliens, Preds and Marines.

I've read a couple of the proposed scripts for this and they are extremely lacking to say the least. I can't remember the exact setting but it was some what of a "sliver" of the whole cataclismic picture and didn't really give you a closure feeling at the end of the script.

Yeah, I watched the "behind the scenes" thing. It doesn't sound like we're going to have the space marines and all that. Just scientists, Preds and Aliens in frigging Antarctica.

Alien definitely wins.

It took a dozen marines to beat like a billion aliens. It took like eight mercenaries to beat one predator.

It took freaking Conan to beat the predator. It took the chick from Ghostbusters to beat the aliens. WTF? How can predator(s) not kick the crap out of Aliens?
A man has been charged after allegedly punching a 73-year-old woman in the face, breaking her nose and stabbing her in the arm with a corkscrew before hitting a second woman with a bottle at a wedding reception in the Whitsunday Islands.

With CrossOver Office, it's playable. There is a QuickTime For Linux, it's an open-source project that has nothing to do with Apple.

I think they play OK with with normal, stand-alone players.

I don't like Flash or QT playing in my browser, so if I can't save it to my HDD and play it back full screen with the player I want to use, then I don't bother with it.

Neither, really. In the end Freddy is carrying Jasons severed head, then Jason opens his eyes, then, roll credits...

It can't be any good without Arnold.
Kerry is the most liberal US Senator in Washington, who has more of a sourpuss disposition than Lieberman.

He sucks the way he flips and then flops...which is why he will be defeated!

Where do they get these guys?

Anyone else go see this movie? I went tonite. Let's just say that people are either going to hate it or... kinda like it.

The end has a surprising twist. I wont' spoil it for those that want to go see it.

I saw it last night. Without spoilers, here's what I thought:

The beginning: Excellent, you get to know the charactors, and there is an element of suspense and anticpation

The middle: rushed and frustrating. I could go into great detail on this, but would spoil things for those who haven't seen it

The end: I found parts of it a bit cheesy, and the very end twist I felt was like a brutal ****ing up the *** for both the Aliens and Predator legacy's.

Funniest part of the movie: The predator takes it's mask off in front of a human woman, and some asshat in the theatre screamed out "now they're totally going to have sex!"

Still, the movie looked great in comparison to the other movie my friend and I watches last night, later on Movie Channel: The House of the Dead... ugh, that movie was *SO* stupid! They actually cut in frames of the game it was based on (console version) into the movie to use as a cut between scenes.

Well, that's my movie rant for the day

Yeah, there was almost too much action. If you're expecting suspense like in the Alien movies, you're going to be disappointed. The action of the Predator movies is there though. However, the gore has been reduced to make it PG-13. Some of those weapons are the shiznit though. I think they borrowed some of them from the games.

I liked the twist at the end. It just goes to show that the Predators aren't immune to the Aliens. Would make for a great sequel too.

Sigh.. only 4 more months until Blade Trinity..
