avatars and signatures

Other forum software allows the user to turn off display of avatars and signatures. Can that be done with phpBB? I've poked thru the profile options but don't see anything to do it. Is it something that has been turned off for this particular forum or is phpBB software not capable of this at all?

well, you can simply not have an avatar or a signature. simpler really than having one and turning it off with some switch.

I think he wants the ability to turn off everyone's avatars and signatures on his connection when he is reading, presumably to save bandwidth.

Off the top of my head I don't know of any option to do that.

good idea really.
too bad no such option with phpBB (to the best of my knowledge) :(
