Benq 1620 Help

Postby rail205 on Mon Dec 06, 2004 10:06 pm

I just bought the Benq 1620 DL dvd burner and for some reason I can't get the burnt movies to play on my standalone dvd player. They play fine on my X-box though??? I am using Princo dvd-r 4x media which I have been using with my old LG dvd burner having no problems.

Is it possible that it is burning it as a +r on a -r dvd

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you know, the BenQ DW1620 is a great burner.... but that doesn't make it a miracle worker. Please try using some good media on it. Optodisc, Prodisc DVD+Rs, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek.... anyone of those will do.

I understand that I should buy better media, and will these are left over ones. Basically should I buy +R or -R for this burner. I always understood that -R was more compatible with standalone players.

And why would they play in the X-box and not on anything else?

Thanks #-o

use -r....is part of the DVD spec....all players play it....but I would say 99% of players will play +r...I never use +r because I have 2 member sin my family whose players will not play +R (even bitset)....so just easier for me.

try b7s9 firmware, it's said to work better for cheaper media.
