I just purchased this drive (retail version) from an online store. The drive is very slow compared to the drive that was already on my computer. It takes 6-7 minutes to read a pressed audio CD while the other drive takes only 2 minutes.
They both have DMA turned on. BENQ is the master drive with UDMA-5.
I also tried connecting BENQ as the slave but has the same result. It starts out quite fast but then slows down to a crawl.
Does anyone know what is going on or how to speed things up ?
