Best drive for region changing...

Postby jaymz668 on Tue Dec 20, 2005 5:12 pm

My trusty LG Combo drive, GCC-4320B, that I bought upon reading the review of here has started acting flaky.

One of my main reasons for purchasing this drive was the ease of resetting the region change counter. This brings me back to doe.

I am looking for a drive that has easy/no hassle region changing ability so I can play discs from Regions 1, 2 and 4.

What's a good drive that will allow me to do all this these days? Does the old RPC manager trick work with newer drives from LG? Or is there a better route to take these days?

The easiest way to get around region codes is just to make your drive region free. You can do this by using unofficial (hacked) firmware.

Otherwise, if you buy a Lite-On based drive, you can simply use LtnRpc to make it region free without voiding your warranty.
