blinking video card

something strange is happening when i boot up. after the window xp screen, my desktop shows for a few seconds before it blinks. this is a geforce 2 mx and it never had this problem. what's happening?

this happends to neither my tnt2 or my fx5700

Are the drivers updated? I suggest getting the latest drivers from Nvidia's site. Don't use the default Windows drivers, unless you want less than optimal performance.
