Bootable dvd disk

Here's a good question. Is it possible to boot up my pc using a dvd data disk? Say for example: I burn Win XP to a dvd disk and set my dvd rom as the first boot drive. Does anyone have experience with this?

IMO it would just be a waste of a recordable DVD when you can always just use a CD instead.

Instead of only one OS U could burn 2/3 os on DVD Bootable with Easyboot, like xp/98se/linux. Iam Experimenting with it. My add.
