Bought myself a new snowboard

Postby Ian on Fri Feb 22, 2008 12:42 am

I wasn't planning on buying a new snowboard this year, but someone knocked over my Salomon Patrol last summer and it damaged one of the edges. I've had my eye on the Ride Yukon for a few years, but I've never found one for a decent price.

SierraSnowboard.com dropped the price of the Yukon down to $350 a couple of weeks ago and I've been waiting for them to drop it again to $300. They ran a promotion today where you could get another 10% off (promo code: member10) so I went for it and ordered a 164cm.

I'm really looking forward to getting a true wide board again. Salomon considers the Patrol a wide board, but its not really big enough for my size 12's. Too bad I won't get it by this weekend.

Rad! I actually ride a "smaller" board but I dig it. I'm 5'10 and my board is 154.

Here's my destination for this weekend (Snow Summit, CA).

Back in the day, when short boards were cool, I had a 153cm. These days I buy boards that are in the 163-165 range. I also have a 169, but thats another story.
