This is probably a stupid question, but on my Sony CDRW drive, I notice that sometimes the drive makes a "skidding" type sound when I go to eject the CD - is that just because it needs to spin down first and I'm ejecting it too soon?

Mine is also Sony CD RW drive.My drive is making such a noise ....u can't believe....but working fine. i tried lens cleaner but of no use......i tried to open the drive....but i can't.. please someone post solutions.... thanks in advance..... -------------------------------------------- Davis.
